The forest management plan to assessing the sustainability
In order to sustainably exploit a forest, one must guarantee that the species removed are replaced by a sufficient number of young sprouts which at the end of their growth will ensure the representation of the species.
An inventory of species (flora but also fauna) is carried out for that purpose. Once achieved, one is able to deduct the growth dynamics of tree species and specify the felling diameter of those to be commercialised as a mean to leave those ensuring the representation of the species standing.
The inventory is equally used to locate sacred trees and all other elements with particular value for local populations. Animal concentrations are also indicated in order to provide the necessary means of protection. The Forest management plan is decisive for sustainable forest management.
