| OBJECTIVES |
The 23 Africa Wood For Life members support the inherent consultation process in the certification process and encourage all the stakeholders to
participate.
They support local initiative and, in collaboration with other stakeholders; civil society, local and international NGOs, etc., take actively part in the elaboration of indicators and checkers,
allowing assessments to be performed in harmony with local context.
They support and take actions in order to promote exchanges and satisfactory dialogue between international and local NGOs. Tropical forests are indeed caught in the middle of local (populations that
live there) and international issues (the role of the forests in climate change).
They implement promotional actions in consumer markets in order to communicate on the benefits of sustainable forest management certification.
